We’ll pick our favourite four entries, then put it to a vote on our Instagram Stories and you guys will decide the winner.

1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the Better Beer Dap Up Competition (“Competition”) is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Eligibility to Enter

2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia, aged 18 years or older. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.

3. Entrants must:

  • Have an active Instagram account
  • Have their Instagram profile set to public during the Competition Period and until winner determination
  • Comply with Instagram’s Terms of Use
  • The Promoter reserves the right to verify age and identity.

4. The Competition commences at 9:00am AEDT on Thursday 2 April 2026 and closes at 9:00am AEST on Tuesday 7 April 2026 (“Competition Period”)

Voting Period

5. The voting commences on Tuesday 7th April 2026 at 6:00pm AEST and closes on Wednesday 8th April 2026 at 6:00pm AEST (“Voting Period”).

How to Enter

6. To participate in the competition entrants must:

  • Follow the Better Beer @betterbeer Instagram account; and
  • Film themselves performing a “dap up” (handshake/hand slap style interaction);
  • Ensure a can or stubby of Better Beer (any SKU) is clearly visible during the video;
  • Upload the video to their Instagram Story;
  • Tag the official Better Beer Instagram account (@betterbeer);
  • Ensure their profile is set to public at the time of entry and until finalists are announced.


7. Entries that do not include a visible Better Beer product, fail to tag the account, or are not publicly viewable will be deemed invalid.

8. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries.

9. Entrants can enter once per Instagram account.

10. Entries must be received by Tuesday 7 April 2026 at 9:00am AEST to be included in the Competition. Each valid entry received over the duration of the Competition Period will be entered into the Prize Judging.

11. It is free to enter, however, the cost of accessing the Instagram App is dependent on the entrant’s individual service provider.

12. The Promoter is entitled to use any of the entries submitted in any manner and for any purpose at its absolute discretion, including promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant. The Promoter is entitled to amend, edit, select, crop, retouch, add to or delete from any part of the submitted entry.

13. The Entrant warrants to the Promoter the entry submitted, is an original work of the Entrant that does not infringe the rights of any third parties and that any people featured in the images and/or video content are aged 18 or above and have consented to their image being used as part of the entry. If any part of the information provided to or by the Entrant in relation to their entry was provided by a third party, the Entrant warrants they have obtained the relevant copyright permission to submit the entry for the purposes of this promotion. The entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter against all claims and costs by third parties arising from a breach of the warranty set out in this condition. An entry that is made on behalf of an entrant by a third party will be invalid.

14. Entrants must not submit an entry that could be considered offensive, insensitive, defamatory or racist. Entries must not include swearing, inappropriate behaviour or language, MA or R rated images, vision or audio. Any entry which the judges, at their discretion, deem inappropriate, incomprehensible and incomplete will be invalid. The entrant agrees to indemnify the Promoter.

15. All entries submitted to the Promotion must not depict, promote, or encourage irresponsible, excessive, or unsafe consumption of alcohol. Entries must not include content that portrays drinking in a manner that is unlawful, dangerous, or socially irresponsible, including but not limited to binge drinking, underage drinking, drinking and driving, or any activity that could reasonably be considered harmful. All entries must comply with the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code (ABAC) and applicable Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and guidelines in Australia.

16. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and reject any entry that it determines to be in breach of the requirements listed in clause 17, non-compliant with the above restrictions, or otherwise depicting inappropriate or irresponsible behaviour.

17. The account holder is responsible for any activity and/or entries that have been submitted using their device (E.g. Phone, computer, tablet etc). It is the account holder’s sole responsibility to control any and all access to their device. The Promoter, and Ansible Pty Ltd, will not be responsible for any loss, damage or costs incurred as a result of failure to comply with this. Entrants must not use another’s device without express permission from the account holder.

18. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Error and omissions will be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

19. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner hereby permits the winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed or filmed during the winner’s participation in the prize to appear in connection with Better Beer or the advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever through the world and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

How to Win

20. This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. The judges’ decision in relation to any aspect of the competition will be final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the result of the prize judging.

21. There will be Four (4) Finalists judged from all entries received throughout the Competition Period by a judging panel at Better Beer Pty Ltd, 3/8 Sawmills Way, Torquay VIC 3228 on Tuesday 7th April 2026 from 9:00am AEST. The Finalists will be the Four (4) Entrants, in the sole opinion of the judges, that have submitted the most deserving entry based on creativity, originality, aesthetic & entertainment value. The Finalists will be notified via Instagram within one (1) business day of judging.

22. The four (4) finalists will then be included in the Public Voting to determine the winner.

Public Voting

23. Throughout the Voting Period, the Four (4) Finalists will have their entry displayed on the better beer Instagram (@betterbeer) for a period of 24 hours from Tuesday 7th April 2026 at 6:00pm AEST until Wednesday 8th April 2026 at 6:00pm AEST for public vote via Poll.

24. The public will vote for their favourite video. At the conclusion of the Voting Period, the One (1) Finalist with the most public votes will be deemed the Major Prize Winner and will receive the Prize detailed in clause 26.

25. In the event of a tie, the Winner will be determined by the Promoter at their discretion.

26. The Prize Winner will be notified by the Promoter and/or Ansible Pty Ltd via e-mail and phone call within two (2) business days of the Voting Period conclusion to confirm their Prize and begin Prize fulfillment. The Winner’s details will be published on the Better Beer Instagram within 7 days of judging.

27. All reasonable attempts will be made to contact the Winner. If the Prize remains unclaimed, unallocated or forfeited for any reason, by 12th July 2026, the Prize will be re-allocated to the Finalist with the next highest number of votes.

29. The total Prize Pool is valued at $26,600.00 (including GST). The prize value is to be considered in its local currency (Australian dollars). The prize value is correct at time of publishing of these Terms and Conditions.

30. The Promoter does not take responsibility for any tax consequences or imposts that arise from the receipt of the Prize. The Prize Winner is advised that tax implications may arise from winning the Prize and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their Prize.

31. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize Winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the Prize.

32. The prize cannot be transferred. The prize will be awarded to the winning entry’s Instagram account holder only.

33. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

34. The Winner may be required to present proof of their rental record or mortgage repayments for verification and validation purposes.

35. The Prize cash awarded will be paid via EFT and will be transferred into the bank account nominated by the Prize Winner on a weekly basis for a period of 38 weeks from the period of 7th April 2026 until 29th December 2026. The bank account must be a valid Australian Bank account in the name of the winner. Neither the Promoter or Ansible will be responsible for a Prize Winner not receiving prize funds as a result of incorrect bank account number details or other details affecting the transfer.

Instagram Release

36. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram. You are providing your information to The Promoter and not to Instagram. The information you provide will only be used for the purpose of this competition unless otherwise specified in these terms and conditions. Any questions, comments or complaints about this Competition must be directed to the Promoter and not to Instagram

40. By entering into the Competition, you:

  • Consent to the Promoter using your entry in any manner and for any purpose at their absolute discretion without any further reference or payment or other compensation to the entrant, including communication of the entry in any media (now existing or hereafter devised) throughout the world in perpetuity Promoter websites, social accounts, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes;
  • Consent to the Promoter editing the entry in any way;
  • Grant to the Promoter the right to use your name, image, and likeness in connection with the entry and the Competition;
  • Assign to the Promoter, by way of present and future assignment of existing and future rights, all rights in all material created by in connection with the entry immediately upon their creation and grant to the Promoter a worldwide, royalty free, exclusive, irrevocable licence to exploit the entry;
  • Consent to such acts that might otherwise infringe your moral rights in respect of all material created under these Terms & Conditions of Entry and you agree that the Promoter are not required to credit you in its exploitation of the entry.


41. In consideration for the Promoter awarding the Prize to the Prize Winner (s) (“Winner”), the Winner hereby permits the Winner’s image and/or voice, as recorded, photographed, or filmed during the Winner’s participation in the Prize to appear in connection with The Promoter’s advertising or marketing thereof, in any media whatsoever through the world and the Winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

General Terms

43. The Promoter’s decision is final, and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the Competition result.

44. Personal information about the Winner will be shared with the Promoter and their agents, to the extent necessary for the Promoter to organise fulfilment of the prize.

45. Should a Prize Winner not meet any of the criteria stated in these terms and conditions to be a valid Prize Winner they will forfeit all rights to the Prize, and a redraw will take place to reallocate the Prize to a valid Winner

46. By accepting the Prize, the Prize Winner agrees to participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable media editorial requests relating to the Prize, including but not limited to, being interviewed, and photographed or filmed.

51. If for any reason this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, subject to government legislation.

52. If your entry is selected as a winning entry, validation of your circumstances, eligibility and the validity of your entry will be undertaken by the Promoter. Method of validation (without limitation) will be determined by the Promoter at its complete discretion. If the winning entry is deemed to be a Prize Winner, the Prize Winner will be notified in accordance with these terms and conditions. In the event that the Promoter requests the entrant to sign any legal documents relating to the verification of their relevant circumstances or eligibility, the legal documents will take the form determined by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting the Prize the Prize Winner signs any such legal documentation.

53. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes, or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Securities and Investments Act 2001 or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). 54. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate, subject to government legislation

55. All entries become the property of the Promoter.

56. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant (or phone user) or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

57. You consent to the Promoter collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying the Prize Winner and prize fulfilment). Your personal information may be disclosed to a third party as a result of entering this competition, including but not limited to Ansible. Your personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and the Prize Winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. For purposes of public statements and advertisements The Promoter will only publish the Prize Winner’s surname, initial and State. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter. If you are not willing for this to occur you cannot participate in the promotion.

30. The Promoter does not take responsibility for any tax consequences or imposts that arise from the receipt of the Prize. The Prize Winner is advised that tax implications may arise from winning the Prize and they should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of their Prize.

31. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize Winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the Prize.

32. The prize cannot be transferred. The prize will be awarded to the winning entry’s Instagram account holder only.

33. It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the Prize Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

34. The Winner may be required to present proof of their rental record or mortgage repayments for verification and validation purposes.

35. The Prize cash awarded will be paid via EFT and will be transferred into the bank account nominated by the Prize Winner on a weekly basis for a period of 38 weeks from the period of 7th April 2026 until 29th December 2026. The bank account must be a valid Australian Bank account in the name of the winner. Neither the Promoter or Ansible will be responsible for a Prize Winner not receiving prize funds as a result of incorrect bank account number details or other details affecting the transfer.

52. If your entry is selected as a winning entry, validation of your circumstances, eligibility and the validity of your entry will be undertaken by the Promoter. Method of validation (without limitation) will be determined by the Promoter at its complete discretion. If the winning entry is deemed to be a Prize Winner, the Prize Winner will be notified in accordance with these terms and conditions. In the event that the Promoter requests the entrant to sign any legal documents relating to the verification of their relevant circumstances or eligibility, the legal documents will take the form determined by the Promoter. 55. All entries become the property of the Promoter.

56. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant (or phone user) or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this Competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

57. You consent to the Promoter collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying the Prize Winner and prize fulfilment). Your personal information may be disclosed to a third party as a result of entering this competition, including but not limited to Ansible. Your personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and the Prize Winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. For purposes of public statements and advertisements The Promoter will only publish the Prize Winner’s surname, initial and State. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter. If you are not willing for this to occur you cannot participate in the promotion.
